Chef Emerl Lagasse has been officially out of the kitchen for the past year.
He was replaced by his brother, David, as the chef of a New York City restaurant.
The move comes as chef-owner Robert Ramsays business is struggling and he’s looking to sell the restaurant he runs.
The restaurant, Rampsay’s Bar and Grill, has had a rocky relationship with its landlord, the New York Public Library, which was in the process of evicting the landlord from the building.
According to ABC New York, the landlord has been negotiating with the library to move out and re-open as an art gallery.
The Library is now asking the public for help in keeping the building open.
Ramsales attorney, Mark Wills, said the library has been working on the rent for several months, but he said the rent is not set until the next landlord and lease-holder meet.
“It’s going to be the end of August or September.
The landlord will ask for a new lease,” Wills said.
The owner of Ramsases restaurant, David Ramsaws, confirmed that he and his brother will be staying on as owners of the restaurant.
“David and I have been working very hard for the last year to make this restaurant what it is,” he said.
“We’re working extremely hard, and we’re doing everything we can to keep this restaurant alive.”
David Rumsaws told the New Yorker he’s working on a restaurant that would be “fantastic” and that it would have “the best food we’ve ever had.”
Ramsayer said the two will continue to work with the New Yorkers Library on a new arrangement.
David Ralsas restaurant, meanwhile, has been operating on the premises since December, when it first opened, according to the website.
Rumsays Bar and Grille is the first restaurant to open in New York since Ramsayers first opened in 2007.
The former Ramsair’s Bar & Grill closed in 2012 and Ramsays Restaurant was also closed.
